Guest guest
Your very welcome- did you use the little eye to go into hiding? LOL- I love that new feature- And yep your right, you can have several nics- I think I had 14 at one time- down to 2 now- I had to keep hiding from my x's LOL- Hugs and I'm glad its working out for you and your mom - MSN is ok but there is a lot more to it to learn than Aim thats for sure - there is yet another program that Im not sure if you've heard of- it's great too - u could use it and still talk to mom on it too- without her even having the program- its called trillian. Trillian lets you have multiple chat programs all on one chat program- talk about hard to get used to though lol- I have it, and use it off and on but usually revert back to single chat programs so i can tell where someone is messaging me from. It will let you have Aim- aol- yahoo- icq- and irc ( I've never used Irc)- anyhow- it lets all these be open on one chat program...... does make it nice at times- less programs open and able to talk to others that might have yahoo and not aim- aol instant messenger- if you want to give it a try the url is http://www.ceruleanstudios.com . LOL- another toy to get used to- Hugs and hope you are as well as can be- Love TJ RE: OT ~ AOL IM vs. MSN messenger Which is best? Been dinking around pretty much all day with the AOL Instant Messenger and MSN just to see which would serve me the best. My mom and I IM frequently as she is on AOL too. I will be dropping so finding a way for her to IM with me without too much new learning has been a priority. After working with both all day, I have to say that the AOL IM is VERY easy to use and it automatically captured all of my buddy lists from all my screen names. And, of course you can create additional names. You don't have to be on AOL (which I didn't know - Thanks TJ) it is free and totally easy to install. I think AOL IM is going to serve best my immediate and future needs. My mom (and others) will be able to communicate with me via IM without having to learn a new system like MSN. So, I have decided to go with AOL IM. My screen ID is the same as my email - JetSki Deb. Hope to *see* you all even when I leave AOL for good! Debbi PS: If anyone out there is using AOL IM will you let me know so I can put you in my list? Thanks! *
Guest guest
Thanks TJ~ I will go ahead and try the ceruleanstudio one too. Why not? As long as they don't put a bunch of shareware on your computer when you are using it I am willing to try anything that might make this IM business easier. Hard to get everyone to have all the same IM programs . as I am finding out. I thought for sure there would be one universal that worked pretty well. But as long as I am trying all these out I might as well try them ALL out! Yes! I love the little sleeping eye feature. And I love the ability to combine all my buddy lists especially since I have used 3 screen names for almost 9 years my buddy lists are quite different. Got to go. doctor apt to get to. Guest guest
Your very welcome- nope no spyware- but Paltalk is full of spyware- I use it though- I own a paltalk room actually- I just pulled out the spyware stuff- cant get all of it but most- and I use pestpatrol and panda so I have been pretty safe so far- but trillian is definitely spywareless :-) RE: Hey ya- AOL IM vs. MSN messenger Which is best?
