Guest guest
WTG and !!! Jen, I'm glad you're getting the area checked out and will be saying prayers that everything turns out okay. {{{Jen}}} ellen Today we had a follow up with the pead and things went well. We don't have to go back for another 12 mths unless something changes. He was quite encouraged with the progress has made. So that was good. Then, went off to the GP for a pap test as it had not been done since was born. The doc did a breast exam and found a " thickened " area and guess who is off for a mammogram next week!!!! ARRGHHH. She is not too concerned but as my Mum has had two breast cancers removed we have to take it seriously. (she got her first at around 45) Needless to say I don't think I will tell her about it. I was pretty cool about it all today but as time goes by your mind plays games with you doesn't it and you think about it more and more. Anyway, should be all Ok. Jen Mum to 5 (NT) and who got another award at school today and Mum is pretty happy about that!!! 2 yrs 5 mths(ASD)

Guest guest
I am sure you already know, but today mark the anniversary of both Kristallnacht, 1938, (also known as Night of Broken Glass, read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristallnacht ) and the day the Berlin Wall came down, 1989.It's fascinating, and a bit strange, that an event so disastrous and dark could share anniversary with an event representing almost the opposite, and yet the two events share more than just a day. They were both the result of people acting as a group. I guess the coincidence in date could teach us that group dynamics, people working together, is a powerful force, that could be used for evil as well as for good. And may we always remember to work with others for good, but to never let group pressure replace our own, individual, moral judgement. I wanted to share a song with you, by the singer/songwriter Eva Dahlgren. It's called "The dreams and the wall" (ie. "Drömmarna och muren"). I have translated the lyrics to English (below), and the song could be listened to on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0HY9hA2De0 (and please do, Eva has a fantastic voice, in my opinion).Love/Reb Lyrics:"We were the children of the future, that's what I remember them saying, when rockets were launched towards the moon, from a country in the faraway West. We were suburban kids, in a terrace house city, where the wind never changed, only ever sighed and died. In this safe haven, there were terrifying whispers, about people behind walls, on the other shore of the Baltic Sea. But in the dance of water fairies, by a pier somewhere, I saw reality bow down, and surrender to a dream. A childhood dream. The people tore down the wall, and sowed seeds in newborn soil, trees of the fall bore the fruit of love, old heroes blushed, young boys went to a war were no one was killed, it was a war with words. In the wind-tortured house blue light from a TV-set showing dreamlike images fluttering past like in a replay -89, late fall, I saw West meet the East, and in a flood of happiness, reality drowned my dream daydream Humans tear down walls, people sow seeds in fruitful soil, trees of fall carrying words of love, humans making love, in each and everyone faith is growing, that man is good."
