Guest guest
Limpy As far as communication goes you can buy a card for 15 , 30 ,45 minutes on the hotel computers in the lobby at the Holiday Inn . This is the best way to commuicate with everybody back home . Forget the 'phone card . This was my experience anyhow and the people at the Holiday Inn told me they'd had alot of trouble with 'phone cards .Also, there are internet cafes around . Whatever you decide to take I'd recommend you leave at least 1/3 of it at home .The less you have to lug back on the aircraft the better . Going out and about ....just casuals . Hospital ....LOOSE shorts and T shirts .Underwear was a problem as far as the surgical scar is concerned Also Im sure it's warmer now but the weather during the first part of March was raw . My leather jacket was very welcome . This is the guy way of doing it but from what I could see the ladies weren't too different . There will be no problem re pain killers . If the IV Tylenol isn't strong enough ask the nurse for something stronger and you'll get it . They're very attentive . Taking the taxi Ghent to Brussells on the way home vs the train system is the only way to go following surgery and the fact you're on crutches . Some feel otherwise but the hassle factor is GREATLY reduced by taxi. Hope this helps . But I can tell you for sure that everything will go just fine for you . Better you should be accompanied by someone . It's not impossible to do yourself , as one of our group did , however , in my case , having my wife accompany me really helped All the best Fred (L)BHR,Mar3,DR.Desmet)
Guest guest
Dear Fred, Thanks again for your specific advice. I'm glad to hear that casual and loose are the keywords for clothing. My husband will definitely be accompanying me. Every time I get a message from you, it inspires confidence in me that it will all work out ok. Thanks a bunch!
