Hi all,

I'm actually kind of excited that I need to ask this question, but on the

other hand, feel a bit dumb, like *everyone* should know this....but...I

spent the weekend at a handbell conference in Tacoma. Tons of walking and

standing. I got huge blisters on the bottom of both fourth toes, the left

being just slightly worse. I recognized the pain since this is exactly

what happened to me in Alaska last year. It sure ruined my planned

anniversary hike up Multnomah Falls that I was going to do yesterday. So

what does one do to stop blisters from forming. Different shoes or socks

or? I wear regular ankle high athletic socks and either my New Balance or

Reebok cross trainers. I've never been able to walk a long enough time or

distance to form blisters, so this shoes my continuing improvement. I

popped them with a sterile needle (I know-DON " T pop them, but they hurt too

much to not pop them) and drained the fluid out and put a band-aid on the

right one. They are now healing up nicely, but I don't want my memory of

every handbell conference to be remembering the pain of blisters.

Thanks!

Cindy
