Guest guest
What was mri-ed? Brain, neck, spine?? I'm glad you made it through. It's hard on the back, isn't it? It kills my back and especially my lower back and hips.hugsSharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Home again home againWell, they didn't kill me at the VA hospital... :-D Actually it's abeautiful place, utilizing a brick fort built in 1896 or so... Got through the MRI okay, despite the fact that my doctor-orderedsedation wasn't given - the contrast stuff wasn't too bad, the noise wastolerable. The worst thing was having to lie on my back and lie STILL -had a screaming muscle spasm in my back the whole time. Now I get to wait and worry about what the scans show . Not reallyhaving much in the way of symptoms right now - what if they're "blank"?Sigh..... ;-P in WY Practical Blackwork Designs http://practicalblackwork.comhttp://practical-blackwork.blogspot.com "You get a wonderful view from the point of no return..." ------------------------------------
Guest guest
I agree with the padding. I've had several MRI's and the worst part was laying on the platform with just a thin cushion. One MRI was of the total spine and I could only get half done before my shoulder went into spasm, and the pain was so great in my hips. The tech was really angry with me, but I asked him if he saw the spasms on the screen, and he said yes, and I said that’s because of the pain I was in laying so long on that hard table. He still was miffed. I had an echocardiogram done and they had a gel pad for me to lay on and it was wonderful. I wonder why they couldn't use something like that on the MRI tables? Unless the gel has metal in it? I don't know. I think if they want more, they're either going to have to send me to another machine ( my shoulders had to be scrunched up to my ears) or pretty much knock me out. Only took about 20 minutes for what they did yesterday - and I rode all the way home with muscle spasms up the left side of my back and a " hug " trying to get started on the right side, and a just-plain-old-backache in the lower back and hips. What's wrong with PADDING these things a little bit?!?!?
