Barb forwarded your original post to me via off-list email.

I noticed several responses to your post when I was scanning two

week's worth of posts last night when I got home but didn't have the

time to read all of them in detail so am not sure what all was

suggested to you.

In general, the modalities I recommend/use myself for whiplash are

acupressure, polarity therapy and cranialsacral. All three are very

gentle and non-invasive. They also seem to get results where the

more standard approaches sometimes don't. Personally, I like to use

them in combination: acupressure to release neck and shoulder muscle

tension, polarity to adjust any cervical vertebrae that are slightly

subluxed, and cranialsacral to address any cranial suture issues.

With the exception of cranialsacral, they are also techniques that

you can do on yourself. If you have been following the posts for the

last three years, I assume you have read some of what I have posted

about the polarity X technique. Use this not only on the tender

center spot but for at least the vertebrae above and below that

point. Better still would be to do it on all seven cervical

vertebrae.

The acupressure release would be opening both Gall Bladder 20's at

the base of the skull about a finger width's lateral to the spine.

Then taking one side at a time, hold one finger on the GB 20 and

three finger tips along the side of the neck (you are going to catch

several points at the same time on the neck that way). Follow this

by moving the one hand from the side of the neck to the top of the

shoulder pressing down toward your feet. Again, use the pads of

three fingers. If you use three fingers, you are going to be on the

spot with at least one of them without having to worry about being

very precise on the location. After that, just slide the same hand

down over your shoulder onto your back so the tips of your fingers

are touching the top of your scapula. On all of these, you continue

to hold the first hand on the GB 20.

Ideally, what you are doing is holding the points until you feel an

energetic balance between your two hands. This sense of energy

might be a tingling, a vibration, a pulsing, or some other subtle

sensation. If you can't/don't feel it right away, then simply hold

the points for about two minutes in each location.

Beyond that, if you can tell me where you live, I can do a quick

internet search to see if there is a practitioner in your area I

would be comfortable recommending to you.

Good luck.
