Dear Heidi,

Thank you so much for your comments and your knowledge on this subject. I

feel I know so little because I felt I didn't have a problem that was going

to be on going but am now a little concerned. I do not believe that , at

this point, I have a chronic condition, and it seems like I can eat what I

want but am trying to do better. I am some what concerned that my pancreas

has been damaged.

I believe I was given enzyme so that my pancreas could rest or not work so

hard. I have not had a weight loss and in fact would like to loose some

weight.

Some one on this list posted a statement saying her doctor had said enzyme

could make the pancreas lazy. I had not heard that but it made me concerned

I think I will try to find a good gastroenterologist in my area just in

case.

Before when I got sick, I feel like I hadn't felt really well for a while,

but didn't even consider that it might be my pancreas.

Thank you again for all your help

Sincerely

Myrna

Heidi,

sorry to hear you haven't been doing well. I hope you new insurance doesn't

make things too rough on you.

I know what you mean about more than one good day in a row. I work an alternate

work schedule where I work 8 nine hour days and 1 8 hour day in a two week

period to make 80 hours. That way I am off every other Monday. I am off

tomorrow but was thinking about going in to work. I had my mom take me to

Walmart today. We weren't even there an hour and it wiped me out.

How can I possibly drive 30 miles to work, work 9 hours plus a half hour for

lunch, and then 30 miles back home. I know I could go in for less hours just to

get a few hours in. I have done that lots of days. However, just getting ready

and then the drive is more than I can handle most days lately. ly, this

sucks!

Also, my stupid sugar is going wacky again. My pcp thinks its just cause of all

the assaults on my body since July. He thinks once we can get my nutrition

under control, my sugar will be fine. It had gotten better for a while. Today

I was sitting at the computer and all of a sudden felt really hot and short of

breath. I checked and it was 216 -higher than ever in my life! I'm pretty sure

I had episode of it dropping at walmart. I had checked before we left the house

and it was 140. At walmart, I got really clammy and shaky all of a sudden. My

mom had a pack of raisins in her purse so she had me eat them. I was better in

a few minutes. When we got home my sugar was 135.

On top of that, I've dropped 6 lbs since Thursday. I'm not underweight but I am

now 5 lbs under the weight loss goal I had set for myself.

Oh, well, I'm sure it will all get better if they can just do the surgery and

get rid of the adhesions or whatever else is causing my panc problems and the

pain/nausea.

I have had 3 pseudocyst removed...each the size of a 2 liter bottle. It

wasn't pretty. Was in the hospital for a year. I can put you in contact

with some people in the UK that deal with antioxidants if you would like.

I hope this finds you and yours well

Regarding the samll boned women......my surgeon had mentioned to me after my

revision that I had small bones. Strong but small. I did not realize that

this could have been a problem and soon forgot about what he had said. Later,

as I was trying to figure out why this happened so that I could make a good

decision about my next hip, I emailed Dr. DeSmet and he is the one that said

that

small bones could be a reason for AVN to develop following resurfacing. He

also said that I may have faired better with the BHR because it is smaller and

requires less bone to be drilled therefore making disruption of the blood

supply less likely. My understandign from my doc and DeSmet as well as others

on

this list is the odds are 1:1000. ph even commented that since he and I

developed AVN it cleared the way for the next 2000 resurfacees.

I certainly did not want to scare anyone, but I think it is something that

everyone needs to investigate before making theri decision. Heidi, I am glad

your resurf is a success.
