Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm writing to request prayers for Sue Ginley's mom. She fell last week on Wednesday. She thought she was fine, but later, when she was shopping with Sue's daughter, she said she need to sit down because she was going to pass out. She did sit down and did pass out. Thankfully, Ginny called Sue and told her about it. Sue made sure she got to the hospital. She had ruptured her spleen when she fell! They took her to surgery immediately, but once they got in there, the surgeon had his hands full, as everything just began falling apart, stitches weren't holding, and she was losing blood faster than they could pump it in. In all, she had 18 units of blood given to her! She is in intensive care, and still holding her own - but how she made it through is beyond Sue and me! When they took her to surgery, they gave her anesthesia, but the only part that worked was the part that paralyzed her. She could feel and hear everything, but could not do anything to let them know that! Her blood pressure, of course, was just barely holding on, so they couldn't give her anything else during surgery - though they didn't know she could feel it all until after it was all over. They said things like " She's losing blood fast ...We're losing her, we're losing her! " I CANNOT even IMAGINE feeling everything and hearing she was on her way out to boot! I told Sue that we sure know where she gets her toughness from! She agreed! To complicate matters even WORSE, the nurse that was caring for Sue's Mom was VERY incompetent and VERY argumentative with Sue! Marie (Sue's mom) was supposed to get a pain pump to help alleviate the pain. She was to get it at 8:30 in the morning. At 8:00 that NIGHT, Sue discovered that the whole time, it hadn't been turned on! Sue was livid, and I don't blame her! Anyway, she seems to be holding her own and is still in intensive care. I asked that Sue try to let me know off and on how she's doing. She will try to do that, but Sue is very very busy at home as well, with some personal issues that need taken care of, and going to various doctor appointments herself. She had just been to Cleveland clinic for a checkup, and learned that she hadn't known of a couple more dissections that occurred when she was in the hospital last year. Of course, all KINDS of things are going through Sue's mind, with the seriousness of her Mom's condition, like " Is this what will happen to me - just my insides falling apart and I'll bleed to death? " She said she felt like she had Post Traumatic Stress, watching everything her Mom was going through and sitting with her at the hospital. I hate to see her under this much stress, so PLEASE, as you pray for Marie's continued healing, also include Sue, that she continues to do well physically and that her issues at home can be resolved quickly. I am going to send a card to Marie to Sue's address, and I'm sure she would appreciate cards from any of the CEDA or EDSers list. I think most of you should have Sue's address, but if you need it again, please write to me at EDSLana@..., and I'll send it to you. I hope all of YOU are having a much better weekend than the Ginley family! I'm just thankful there are so many of us to support each other and to send loving thoughts and prayers to our other members! GOD BLESS! Love Lana 0 :-)
