High and Low Vitamin A Levels Increase Hip Fracture Risk

By

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Aug 17 - Compared with women with median-range

serum concentrations of vitamin A, those with higher or lower concentrations

appear to be at increased risk of hip fracture...

" At both ends of the spectrum, the skeleton can be harmed, " Dr. Bilezekian

told Reuters Health. " Vitamin A should be used within the recommended daily

allowance figures as provided by the Food and Nutrition Board and other

authoritative health agencies. "
