Guest guest
I'm back again now that school has started back here in Florida. Thank heavens that Hurricane Charley passed us by!! My GP has now sent me to a pain specialist. I wish everyone on the list could see her! I spent at least 1/2 hr with the nurse practitioner going over my history. Then I saw the dr and she was visibly excited to see me! That alone was a near miracle. Even better, she is very well-versed in EDS, has other EDS patients!! She seemed to be so glad to talk with me. She explained everything well and clearly and may actually offer some help for my still injured shoulder! She is trying to get my insurance co to approve prolotherapy - to treat the problem nerve in my left shoulder. She wants me to try Neurontin so I am giving it a chance. I don't want to get too excited but at the same time, it gave me a feeling of near exhilaration to not need to explain my problem. ANd as she was checking me over she felt around on my neck and was surprised at the laxity of my c-spine! Even if it doesn't work so well, it's such a relief to have a physician actually listen and not treat me as though I know nothing! I hope to be back on more often now that is in school and in a couple of weeks Anne will go to preschool from 9-12 on T & Th. That will give me a much needed break!
