Mike's Trip

I just got an off list email that included the following:

" What do you charge for your therapies? I would love to have you

work on me, but am on disability and money is limited. Maybe that

is another reason more people have not responded? "

Like I replied to it, I thought I had clarified this point earlier

but maybe not good enough. So - once again:

" In the first place, I am not licensed anyplace other than the state

of Washington. So, to the extent that what I do falls under any

applicable massage laws, I am not allowed by law to charge

elsewhere. There are, however, some modalities that I practice,

such as Polarity, that are not governed by massage laws and

regulations where I could technically get away with charging. And

there are also some pure energy things that I do that really don't

fit any of the standard modalities.

But the two broad goals I have in mind for this trip are education

and research. I have some ideas about how some of this stuff might

work in a lot of areas but I can't prove them without working on

people with the conditions. I never got into this for the money and

I am definitely not taking this trip from a monetary perspective.

All of which is a round-about way of saying I'm not charging anybody

anything on this trip. Considering the price of gas this summer, if

someone felt inclined to donate something to the gas fund, I

wouldn't turn it down. But since I never got into this whole scene

with the idea of making money from it, my personal policy has been,

is, and will continue to be that I will work on anybody, anytime,

anywhere. And that I will NEVER turn someone down simply because

they couldn't pay me. And that holds for later on as well if I do

end up eventually setting up a private practice here in Seattle. "

Is this clear enough?
