Guest guest
I definitely agree with you about getting an e-reader. If I don't get one for my BD, I'm going to get one myself. Being able to log on to almost all of Canada's libraries at anytime of day or night is great. All you need is your library card and a PIN. But because Canada has the Kobo rather than the Kindle, they 'say' they don't have Kindle format ebooks. That's not true since there are legit sites to convert to mobi anyway. Another thing I'd use it for is making copies of craft patterns (I think it's legal to make a working copy of almost all). Whenever we go away I always take a simple project like knitting and invariably leave the pattern behind. And of course wouldn't have to drive me to the library all the time. And can you tell I'm making excuses for why I need one LOL ... hugs, Cait my life My life has been so boring that I haven't written much. My family has been gone camping since Sunday (be home tomorrow). I have read three books. I get up about 5 a.m. and drink a cup of cocoa and listen to the morning news on the radio. Then I put my cell phone in my pocket and go let chickens and ducks out of their house, feed them and water them. I call the barn kitties for their breakfast and check on little orphaned kitty. I go back to lock the poultry up at dusk. That's been my life pretty much. QUIET. I enjoy quiet but I know I'll be glad to see the family again. My special dog, Yippy, worried me yesterday. He apparently made contact with a wasp because his lip and his eye were swollen. He had rubbed his eye against something trying to "fix" it and he was skinned up and had hair missing around his eye. He was crying and I had to give him a lot of extra attention. Today he is better but is still being a mamma's boy. I have read "Sizzling 16" by Janet Evanovich, "Skinwalkers" by Tony Hillerman and "Riptide" by Coulter. Now I am reading "The Formative Years" by Clarence L. Var Steeg. The last one is a history (1607-1763) of England and parts of Europe as they apply to the immigrants coming to this country and in the colonies. I thought it might help me with my genealogy research. It takes me about 10 minutes each day to do my dishes. Totally a massive change from when the family is here. So the family is on vacation and so am I! hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Well, if the libraries have Kobo rather the kindle format, with Borders going out of business, that may cause a problem - well with obtaining new books. That's one thing I love about the Nook is you can use a variety of formats - epub, pdf, and a few others. And don't worry about making excuses for why you need one - I did the same thing. " We're running out of bookshelf space, " (true), " Most of them are cheaper on the nook " (true), and several others. This was back right after my last year of working, so we got a good sized income tax return, so I was able to get it with the income tax money. Then when my backpayment came in, hubby wanted to upgrade me to a nook color, which he has, so we did that - my old nook is now for " the boys " - we don't want it to be their primary form of reading, because I'm not letting them take it to school (and in his English class he has to do a book report every quarter on a book she's seen them reading in silent sustained reading), but it's already come in handy, as one book my oldest wanted was not only on back order, but it was hardcover only - so more expensive, but it was $12 cheaper on the nook, and no back ordering. Tina I definitely agree with you about getting an e-reader. If I don't get one for my BD, I'm going to get one myself.
