How much post-op pain medication did you hipsters need?

Can you experienced hipsters tell me, honestly, how much and how long

did you take pain meds after surgery? If you don't have arthritis

anywhere else, was there any reason to continue taking NSAIDs after

the hip was fixed? How about Glucosamine?

I'm getting my hip resurfaced in August. I have really never had

anything else wrong with me of any significance. In past when I had

some minor injury or oral surgery, I was given both Vicodan and

Codiene, but both made me throw up.

The pain specialist I saw last year when my hip was bothering me a

lot, gave me some Demerol to take if the pain interfered with my

sleep, etc. In one year I've only taken 7 doses (of course I've been

continuously on NSAIDS and Cosamin DS). The last time I took it, I

got sick again. I'm worried that after my surgery, they will have

trouble controlling my pain if everything makes sick. I guess they

can give me an anti-emetic with the narcotic, but I don't want to be a

zombie.
