Guest guest
Okay, so I went to St. Louis and had my first Tysabri infusion. My doc wants it done in her building the first few times in case I get a reaction. So 45 minute drive, 3 hours there, 45 minutes back. Infusion went well, no overt reactions, but on the way back to the car, I started to get joint stiffness. I'm hoping it was just from sitting in the damn treatment chair for so long. Now it's pretty much confined to one hip, one shoulder, and all over my foot - all on the left side, which is the side most affected by my MS anyway. After we got home, muscle aches started in, pretty much around the achy joints, but some other muscles, too, like my back. Again, I'm hoping this is just from 5 hours sitting. I don't do good with lengthy car travel anymore, and I don't even sit on my couch for three hours in a row usually, even reclined. I alternate between my couch and my desk chair. Even when I'm not in the mood to be on the computer, I need the change in positions. Plus, I follow my husband into the den unless he explicitly wants to be alone - the reasons for that are two fold, one, we smoke from the same pack of cigarettes, so when we aren't in the same room, he doesn't tell me when he's smoking, so when I go and get a cigarette, I never know if I'm smoking more or less than him, and I try not to smoke more than him, and two, I like the company. I'll talk to him about what he's playing, or about something I'm reading, or something on the news websites, whatever. Well, I guess three reasons - I have friends in Norway, so I chat with them, too, when I'm in here and they aren't consumed with WOW. Anyway, got off track. Joint pain is one of the listed side effects, according to my latest e-mail from Biogen Idec. I suppose the muscle pain could just be from sitting for so long, or in response to the joint pain.
