I know of no evidence of life threatening withdrawal seizures associated

with Lamictal in general (beyond any associated with an epilepsy treated with

the drug), unlike problems associated with sudden discontinuation of

benzos or barbiturates. Prudence would suggest a tapered withdrawal even if

there is no history of preexisting seizure disorder.

gives a long and gory list of the side effects, the most prominent include

a nasty, life threatening, skin condition known as s-

syndrome.

I'd be interested to see the reference of the melanin binding.

I found that Lamortigine binds to the melanin containing tissue, such as

the iris of the eye, therefor causing visual disturbances. Also benzos

should be used to control life threatning Lamortigine withdrawl seizures. Am I

close?
