Guest guest
forwarding this to the list as well. I know of no evidence of life threatening withdrawal seizures associated with Lamictal in general (beyond any associated with an epilepsy treated with the drug), unlike problems associated with sudden discontinuation of benzos or barbiturates. Prudence would suggest a tapered withdrawal even if there is no history of preexisting seizure disorder. _http://www.medscape.com/druginfo/monograph?cid=med&drugid=8486&drugname=Lam ictal+Oral&monotype=monograph&secid=4_ (http://www.medscape.com/druginfo/monograph?cid=med&drugid=8486&drugname=Lamicta\ l+Oral&monotype=monograph&secid=4 ) (_http://tinyurl.com/Lamictal-side_ (http://tinyurl.com/Lamictal-side) may require registration) gives a long and gory list of the side effects, the most prominent include a nasty, life threatening, skin condition known as s- syndrome. I'd be interested to see the reference of the melanin binding. ck ____________________________________ From: summedic@... To: Krin135@... Also benzos should be used to control life threatning Lamortigine withdrawl seizures. Am I close?
