Guest guest Posted October 14, 2010 Report Share Posted October 14, 2010 The University of Texas Health Science Center-San (UTHSCSA) and The Texas Fire Academy is pleased to offer a Certificate Paramedic Program in San Marcos, Texas. UTHSCSA is a nationally accredited paramedic program through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Class will begin on February 1st, 2011. The Classroom location will be held at the South Hays FD Station 13 located at 8301 RR12 San Marcos, Texas. It is located just 10miles west of IH35. Applications will be accepted until Friday December 3rd, 2010. Pre-assessment exams required by UTHSCSA will be held on December 11th & 12th. Applications can be downloaded at http://www.texasfireacademy.com/paramedic.html The cost of the course is $4500.00. A deposit of $1000.00(check, money order, or c/c) payable to UTHSCSA and mailed to 4201 Medical Dr. Suite 120 San , Texas 78229 or dropped off at The Texas Fire Academy located at 1401 W. San St. San Marcos, Texas 78666 along with a completed application for you to be eligible for assessment testing. Each student will also be responsible for purchasing: Navy blue EMT/uniform pants Textbooks NREMT Advanced Practical/Written Testing fees. State application fees for certification/licensure You will be given more information on these if you are accepted into the program. The Course Schedule will be Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9am-4pm Minimum Requirements for Entry: Basic EMT- National Registry or State Certification High School Diploma/G.E.D. or college transcript CPR-AHA Healthcare Provider card, ASHI, or Red Cross Professional Rescuer card. Verification of immunization against: Tetanus, Diphtheria, Mumps, Measles, and Rubella; Varicella or documented proof of chicken pox; Hepatitis B (consists of a three does series which can take several months to complete); Hepatitis A is not required, but is recommended.
