Hi Pat,

Welcome! This is really a good group--you'll find lot's of moral

support, tips and advice, and nuggets of information that should

make your life much easier. Since I've joined, I don't know how many

little tricks I've learned and not feeling alone is wonderful.

Speaking of tips... how on earth do you manage to find the energy to

teach high school English and math? Not to mention be there for 3

children and 2 grandchildren? I'm floundering trying to do about

half that!

About exercise: there is a book out called Fibromyalgia, Simple

Relief through Movement by Stacie L. Bigelow, M.A. that you might

find useful. It has a very gentle approach, taking into

consideration the fact that sometimes exercise can actually make

fibromyalgia worse.

Again, welcome,

Margaret

Although Jackie knows all about me (we've been friends for years) she suggested we sent intros for those who don't know us. I am a 60 year old (last month) mom of two VERY grown children ages 38 and 41. I am the proud gramma to 8 grandkids ages 7 to 24. I share a home with my son, his wife and their four kids ages 8, 13, 15 and 16. My other grandkids live 5 miles away with my daughter and their dad. Those kids are 7, 11, 21, 24. Whew... that's a lot of ages to throw out at'cha. lolI was dxed with Transverse Myelitis (where I first met Jackie) in 97. Then dxed with MS in 98. I was working at CPS in a job I dearly loved. But my cognitive "upset" got the best of me and I had to go on disability. I

tried working through the "cognitive upset" but my job was very detailed and involved a lot of legal work. I just couldn't function at my job any longer:( Since "retiring" I moved to the mountains, then to Alaska for one last adventure, then back to my mountains in Arizona. In 2002 I had a very serious car wreck and nearly died. I broke my neck, collapsed lung, broke all right posterior ribs, had a variety of gashes and was actually scalped. The trauma team stapled my head back together and I floated from life to death for days. I lived through it and have spent the years since being thankful for my life and am still recovering. Life is good! (better than the alternative:)I live off-grid with our power coming from our solar panels and wind generator. I have a good sized flock of chickens and ducks. I enjoy going out to the poultry in the spring/summer/fall mornings to feed them

out of my hand. Winter is a no-go for me usually because of the ice and snow. I don't walk well anytime but especially not on ice/snow. We have a large organic vegetable garden that isn't doing well this year. Warm weather was late coming this year and the wind was awful (the plants don't like the wind).I enjoy genealogy research. I like to spend time with my grandkids. I like to read and I like to save money with coupons. I enjoy watching the news or listening to the radio. That's me in a nutshell. (emphasis on NUT:)hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no
