Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Anyone else have hips that will clunk or even grate at times while walking? What about hips getting stuck in one position? Right from the age of 9 my R hip would seem to slip a bit while I was lying down. It would get stuck somewhere in joint where I couldn't physically sit up until I wiggeled around a bit and got it unjammed. In the last 2-3 years its started to pull this trick when I get up off a sofa/bench/toliet and I have to push on the front of my thigh until it clunks and I'm fine. Other times even while walking it won't get completely stuck but will all of a sudden change positions slightly just so that weightbearing is incredibly painful until it goes back to whatever position it likes to be in. My hips are next in line for my physical therapist (poor guy! At least I gave him a forewarning this time ;-) ) who thinks its more likely that my hip is slipping around a little and jamming in the socket (much like my shoulder does) but doesn't actually dislocate as hips are usually the hardest joint to pop out in a passive way. But he hasn't done his official assessment on them yet. I'm just curious to see if others have hip issues too that sound similar to this. I was just out doing shopping at Walmart with my service dog Hannah (who has come leaps and bounds with her people shyness and is turning into the best little s-dog ever!) and I did 30 mins slow walking (ermm limping) and a bit of standing in line before sitting for another 30 mins or so at Mcs and now have had to take a percocet for the hip pain. Some days it just gets stiff with shopping while my spine, knees, and ankles are the worst, but usually the hips are pretty tempermental. Soo...someone please tell me that they can clone us new bodies! BTW any other Canadians getting a bit of this heat wave? **grin** ((((HUGS)))) and many thanks for the support from my special CEDA family. -Rhea
