Guest guest
Hi Lana: Thanks for the info. She has never had loose BM's or gas particularly, just heart burn. Peadiatrician would only order prune jce which she adamantly refused to drink, when she had a small anal tear from constipation. Did you have to see a GI specialist to get this stuff ordered. I very much distrust Canadian specialists as we have been treated as neurotic or insulted so often it is too painful and a waste of time to see these people and the barium x-rays they order just make the constipation worse, irritate the bowel totally and are horrid for a teen to endure. Is the Colon Cleanse strong or unpleasant to take as she detests having loose B.M., even complains about taking milk of magnesia and fearful of loose BM. from it, or triggering more nausea. She does not get severe cramping for B.M.'s What is the Miralx powder like to take and is it expensive? I was hoping to find a simple herbal remedie. Hi Bernie, Has she been diagnosed with IBS or Diverticulitis?? It sounds like one of those to me - just my opinion. I had a HUGE problem with constipation. My doctor put me on Miralax powder, and it has been a Godsend! I can't even take it daily now, as I would have the opposite effect; but when I first began it, it helped tremendously. I also take a fairly new drug out for IBS/constipation, which is Zelnorm. I take one in the morning and one at night. Then when necessary, I use the Miralax. I also take 6 stool softeners a day and an herb (Colon Cleanse) twice a day. As you can tell, it's quite a problem for me. As far as sweats and such, when I get the cramps associated with IBS, I can get very light headed and sweaty along with nausea. I have a medication (Hyoscamine Suf.) that I place under my tongue to relieve the cramping. I hope this helps. You can also reach me privately if necessary, just let me know! No, Bernie, my doctor prescribed it for me with no problem, for the IBS. > Is the Colon Cleanse strong or unpleasant to take as > she detests having loose B.M., even complains about taking milk of > magnesia and fearful of loose BM. from it, or triggering more nausea. The Colon Cleanse is a pill - somewhat large, but I just take a sip of water, hold it in my mouth, plop in the pill, tilt my head back and swallow - easy! I'm not sure of the tase, cuz I don't taste it, but I don't think it would taste great - but if she has no problems taking pills, there shouldn't be a problem. I get it at a No Name Nutrition, as it's cheaper there, with a larger bottle. Otherwise I get it at GNC. http://www.drugstore.com/qxc14080_333181_sespider/gnc_colon_formulas/g nc_colon_formulas.htm > What is the Miralx powder like to take and is it expensive? The Miralax disolves completely in water, no taste, doesn't change the consistancy. You do have to drink a full 8 oz. glass of water, but then you should with the Colon Cleanse as well. As far as expense, I don't think it's very expensive. Here is a website: http://www.miralax.com/miralaxlaxative/index.htm Love Lana
