Avoiding web site viruses

The very best strategy to avoid web site viruses, is to NEVER use

Internet Explorer. Almost all web site viruses are buffer overflow

viruses that specifically exploit IE (Microsoft Internet Explorer)

vulnerablilities. Some attack active web features specific to IE. All

other browsers are immune to all these viruses/exploits, so if you

switch browsers, you can't get infected even if you visit a vicious or

" infected " web site.

If you go to mozilla.org, you can download a free browser that's

superior in my opinion, and won't show pop up ads.

Many professionals and even magazines are now advising that everyone

abandon IE. For various reasons, it's just too dangerous.

I've posted this advice here before, but not for a while, and it's

worth repeating now as the situation has steadily grown worse re IE.
