I wrote back the online cane store and received a literate, polite, and apologetic e-mail answering all of my questions, including where they're based. They have no bad record with the BBB so I'm going to go ahead and order just as soon as I make sure I've got enough in my account >.> LoL In excellent news relating to this, there is no additional charge for shipping to Alaska because they consider it to be continental US...which it technically is, but nobody ever counts it as Continental (only the Lower 48 qualify.)
