Guest guest
So you wouldn't much appreciate a traditional Swedish kräftskiva (crayfish party, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crayfish_party ) then... I don't mind the eyes (but don't eat them, either, even though the crayfish is served whole you eat only the meat, and the roe, and suck the "juice" from the legs). I prefer to have crayfish as just a starter, though, and not as the main dish, because I think there is too much fuss involved in converting the whole crayfish to edible parts (or, as I use to put it: too much work, for too little food), it gets a bit tiresome if you are supposed to get all, or the main, part of the meal that way (in my opinion). I prefer food I can just put in my mouth and eat. My sister says that attitude is "such a guy thing"... Maybe it is. love/Reb>> Hi Jackie, Akiba, Anne & Sharon> I first went through the emails, otherwise I may lose my way. LOL> I think the black mold is bad for our health, but unfortunately, Mossel Bay, and I think any other coastal town has the trouble with it. Too much humidity, I suppose. Well, every now and then when I have the guts to clean it, we do it. Although the last time I cleaned it was about 7 years ago. I know, a very long time. But at least I found some good stuff to clean it, and it's suppose to keep it away for a while. I was surprised that my asthma didn't give me too much trouble with the cleaning solution, it really has a strong odor, so one more bright side. The other great thing about the solution is that I don't have to scrub so hard. We don't have a brick house, it's made of asbestos. I hope I have the word correct. So maybe it's more humid than a brick home as well.> > Anyway, thanks Anne, for sticking by me. We don't eat food that looks at us. Yuckkkkkk!!! LOL I know that at our supermarkets we get fish and all that other unnamely things with eyes etc. I don't like fish that I have to clean, don't know how to clean it, and besides, I like my fish dead. Thank you. LOL The funny thing is that the fish that is always frozen, tastes like "dead" fish to me, they don't have any taste. So I love getting fish from a fish store, it's not so "dead", I suppose more fresh or maybe they just know how to fix it. > > > Coffee??? Oh yeah, please. At least there is nothing in there that can look at me. I love my coffee strong like mad, hey, don't give me these imitations with chicory in it. Yuck. I prefer grounded coffee without the chicory thing. No sugar and no milk. I never had coffee being too strong, so maybe I'm American, who knows??? LOL I always see on TV that you guys like your coffee strong, black and without sugar. So I'm so there.> > And Sharon, it's really a pleasure feeling tired from something. Most of the times the little things seem like a mountain to me. And funny, when I first start with it, it's not that big a deal. Just getting there is the problem. Today Mom and I tried (with the emphasis on TRIED) to hit an iron pole into the ground at our jasmine and one hibiscus tree. Well, I first had to move Kwaai-Babatjie from jasmine, he would not survive all the action. We only have a normal kind of hammer, we needed a ten pound or rather a 16 pound hammer. Now imagine these 2 old gals, trying to hit something. Doing a rain dance every time we get it hit. Well, we had to borrow a hammer from our neighbor. Luckily guys have all the best tools. I said to Mom we better get us one as well, the big hammer, not the guy!!!! Well, the hammer was so heavy, I had to really try and get it up, so I hit, then I had to rest every 4 hits. We didn't really get the pole into the ground, oh well,> just a little bit. So hopefully no strong wind will come and blow the pole out. Well, we were tired, so we took a nap afterwards. Hey, we're old remember??? LOL Anyway, the reason why we wanted to hit the pole into the ground at both the trees, is because they kind of grow a bit crooked. I suppose the wind has something to do with that problem as well. Now hopefully when my brother come over, we can get him to hit the poles further into the ground. He offered to do it, but hey, we had to wait until he has some time off his work, so it may take a while. Mom was in a hurry. I must admit, it was easier to hit the pole with our usual hammer, not so heavy to lift, so hang on, you'll probably hear a lot more do-it-yourself and then go-take-a-long-nap stories. > > So until tomorrow then. Maybe I'll try to start my painting, yippeeee!! Just wish I didn't have to figure out a way to clean the walls before painting. I hate that part. Rather just paint, so much more fun.> Take care, be good stay away from heavy tools and if anyone thinks of getting into trouble, please remember to drag me along.> Love you all> & Mom>
