Guest guest
Hi I'm down for a R BHR with Dr in Canberra at the end of July. I've already asked him a whole lot of questons but I forgot to ask him this one. Can anyone enlighten me? During an operation, once a surgeon has gained access to the hip capsule (my surgeon says he separates the gluteus maximus muscle from the pelvis) how do they typically get through the ligaments which surround it? Do the ligaments have to be cut to free the femoral head or can a surgeon just dislocate the hip by stretching a ligament here and there? Neither solution is ideal, but ligaments are usually much less resilient to damage than muscles and tendons and I wonder what state they're left in after a typical resurfacing? Thanks Tony
