Guest guest
Peggy, I have been involved with EMS purchasing since 1992 on both the purchasing and later, the sales side. I have never heard of Diamond Pharmacy, and in reviewing their website, it appears that they are not really set up to deal with the needs of EMS, which can be a bit different than Correctional and Nursing. It looks like they have some really cool practices in place, but maybe not for dealing with the delivery routes that EMS utilizes, like administering through Medical Director licenses. Heck, they MAY be set up to work with EMS well, I have just never dealt with them or heard of them. Some of the things to consider are their location, about 50 miles East of Philadelphia. Your shipping time, if the medication is in stock will be pretty long, compared to other options available in TX. Some medications (Cardizem/Succinylcholine) will require special packaging and overnight shipping, and the costs will add up. They may also not carry the meds you need in the packaging or doses you need. If they promise they can make medications available to you that are not in their common " catalog " of offerings, get some documentation to hold their feet to the fire if a particular quantity you set up is not kept on hand for you and you are forced to wait for manufacturing support. I am not going to recommend anyone in particular, but there are a number of EMS vendors with warehouses in TX or procedures in place to handle the issues above. If you need any help finding one, please let me know via private message and I will be happy to discuss this with you. I am no longer in either sales or purchasing and have no stake in the issue, so this is absolutely not any kind of sales spiel. I am very happy working on the ambulances again and seeing patients face-to-face. If I have knowledge that can help, I will be happy to share it with you or anyone else.
