Guest guest
Hi all, My primary care doctor kinda ticked me off the other day. The Rheumatologist has confirmed RA and fibro but is still investigating Lupus since some of the tests did come back positive. I want to know! My primary care doctor, though, said RA and Lupus are pretty much the same disease and it doesn't matter. I think it does! What do you all say? -Anne
Guest guest
-Anne I just love primary doctors lol I think insurance pays them to tell us that it is no big deal. I have suffered for so many years and dr. kept telling me take this it is no big deal. Or ask me over and over now what is your hear for today over and over. Like I was there for his or her amusment. I have had dr. tell me lose weight and you will feel alot better. Or you are not losing weight so you can not be that sick. Get more exercise when I can bearly move or straighten up because of pain. Lupies or Ra I think they are not the same in any aspect. Of course I am not a Dr. or anything like that but I would want to know definetly what is wrong with me so I could manage the problem so it would stay in check. Life interuption is no fun. Putting your life on hold waiting for an answer is no fun. Life is suppose to be fun. Playing with kids or walking to the park looking at trees, and flowers or just setting on the porch with a glass of lemonade. love bunches MISSYbritlit1964 wrote: Hi all,My primary care doctor kinda ticked me off the other day. Guest guest
Hi -Anne: I have RA and Lupus Overlap. The question is- Is every autoimmune disease the same? Answer- No. Symptoms vary, treatment varies etc. Before I got any diagnosis I was really frustrated. I couldn't understand why the doctors couldn't just say it is this or that yes or no..... Anyhow. I agree with you that it does matter. It matters to me. When I have told people about my situation they seem more concerned when they hear the Lupus part. RA is confused with Osteoporis and people are not educated about the devastation it can cause. Then you get to Fibro. The general public is biased, thinking it is just all an emotional problem. Well wake up and join the time of enlightenment. I once went to a hand specialist because of horrible pain in my fingers. After he examined me he said " Nothing is wrong with you. " I looked at him and repeated back what he said, just so he could hear how STUPID he was. Then he qualifed with " nothing surgically is wrong " . I hope this is of some help, hang in there. Pam RA and Lupus the same?: Hi all, My primary care doctor kinda ticked me off the other day.
