& Community Health Care Program, in partnership with the s Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the National Council of La Raza announce the following grant opportunity.Deadline: October 31, 2003The program's goal is to assist organizations which improve access to quality health care for the medically underserved. This year, additional consideration will be given to programs focusing on the education and prevention of diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Applications are being accepted from the following geographic areas only: Alabama, New Jersey, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Texas, and Georgia. Organizations selected by the Community Health Care Program will receive a $150,000 non-renewable, two-year grant, with $75,000 being paid out each year. The second year's funding will be awarded based on the progress of the program during the first year. Applications for the 2004-2006 funding cycle are being accepted now until October 31, 2003.
