Hey, Bratty Pooh, Isn't life grand? I am so relieved to be able to just get up out of bed and breathe.

I actually went outside and started the sprinkler this morning without even thinking about it. Before

they took this fluid off my body, I couldn't even walk that far, much less bend over and turn the

faucet on. Sounds funny to get so worked up over something so simple, but when you haven't been

able to do anything for months, it is like a miracle. I am taking each day as it comes, trying not to

plan ahead, and doing exactly what the docs tell me.

I have dropped 46 lbs. in ten weeks, more than half of it water. Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

So, the goal is to heal this ulcer so my blood count will go back up to normal, then I'll have the energy

to get around enough to keep my circulation going better and keep the fluid off more naturally.

Interesting, isn't it, how each system in the body is connected to the others? So, I take my new

meds (I am up to 27 pills in the a.m. and 16 in the p.m.), do what they tell me, and I'm doing very

well and this is day three out of incarceration. I barely made it through one day without fluid build

up after the heart cath. so this is looking good for me.

How are you, my friend? Haven't been able to read more than a few posts. I put myself on NO EMAIL before going into the hospital, but I came home to more than 500 emails, anyway! Wow!

Tell me what's going on with you. Love you, MM

P.S. It was so nice to hear your voice while I was medically incarcerated. I had calls from Normi and

others, too. Sure cheered me up.

Brat, my Brat, Start looking for another Rheumy now, while you still have your old one. That way

you can get a chance to discuss the change with your retiring doc. I did that and it really helped me

make the transition. Good luck. Love you, MM

Bratty Pooh, OK, here's the recipe for Pasta Primavera with Roast Chicken

1 lb. pasta of your choice, cooked al dente.

2 Cups cubed roasted chicken

1 pint pesto sauce (commercial or homemade)

1 T Mrs. Dash garlic and herb seasoning

1 T minced garlic

1/2 tsp. black pepper

1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes

6 Cups sliced summer squash

1/2 Cup green olives, minced

1/4 Cup shredded Parmesan Cheese

Heat pesto sauce in bottom of large heavy skillet, add seasonings, squash, olives, and 1/4 Cup of

the pasta water. Cook over low heat until squash can be pierced with fork, but not mushy. Drain

pasta, add to sauce in skillet and mix together. Add cheese and mix again. Serve warm. If you need

salt, add it at the table, as I make this so I can eat is on my low sodium diet.

Hope you like it. Love, MM

Brat, Whaddaya mean they want to see him next week?!? I wonder if his testicle just dropped into

place, rather than out of place? Anyhow, I hope all is well with both boys. Why are they concerned

about undescended testicles in a two year old? Randy was twelve when they did his surgery.

My little brother had a hernia and hydroseal at birth, and had corrective surgery for that at 5 weeks.

He missed one little feeding, but my parents didn't sleep for days worrying over him. Kids are a lot

more resilient than we think.

I'll write as soon as I get back from our trip. You take it easy, kiddo. Also, last time I went away,

I put myself on no email and got hundreds anyway. This time I'll do that AND take myself off notice

for all the other stuff moderators get until I get back. 'k? Love you, MM

Brat, Well, that was later than my latest email from her on the 10th. Was she doing ok at the time

you heard from her? And, how are you doing? Missed you all very much, but sure was good to get

away from phones, teenage girls calling every hour, and household chores. I like cooking outdoors

where everything can fall in the dirt, and nobody minds. LOL Love, MM

>Leaving behing the tent and food would be a bit of a surprise when you unpacked!

But I bet the boys wouldn't forget them the next time (if they lived for a next time, that is!)
