Ok, I had to

jump in here. I have only been diagnosed with Fibro and I totally

understand. It's like if you lose weight your life will become perfect!

I once went to a Rheumy who insisted I was fine. Even though my

fingers swelled so bad I couldn't move them. When i asked him about

that....he said "Sometimes you'll just have that"

I was so furious, I walked out and NEVER went back!

my 2 cents worth..........

Hi -Anne:

I have RA and Lupus Overlap. The question is- Is every autoimmune

disease the same? Answer- No. Symptoms vary, treatment varies etc.

Before I got any diagnosis I was really frustrated. I couldn't

understand why the doctors couldn't just say it is this or that yes or

no..... Anyhow. I agree with you that it does matter. It matters to

me.

When I have told people about my situation they seem more concerned

when they hear the Lupus part. RA is confused with Osteoporis and

people are not educated about the devastation it can cause. Then you

get to Fibro. The general public is biased, thinking it is just all an

emotional problem. Well wake up and join the time of enlightenment.

I once went to a hand specialist because of horrible pain in my

fingers. After he examined me he said "Nothing is wrong with you." I

looked at him and repeated back what he said, just so he could hear how

STUPID he was. Then he qualifed with "nothing surgically is wrong".

I hope this is of some help, hang in there.

RA and Lupus the same?:

Hi all,

My primary care doctor kinda ticked me off the other day. The

Rheumatologist has confirmed RA and fibro but is still investigating

Lupus since some of the tests did come back positive. I want to know!

My primary care doctor, though, said RA and Lupus are pretty much the

same disease and it doesn't matter. I think it does! What do you all

say?
