Hi Margaret,

I'm a newbie. I have a " sort-of " diagnosis of Lupus. One of my

labs came back positive (I hope it's a false positive). I have

none of the " common " symptoms but I have had chronic urticaria

with anaphylaxis and the Docs think " that " may be a

manifestation of lupus. We'll see.

Hives! Be so so so very careful when considering " alternative " or

herbal remedies. I've had two anaphylactic reactions to herbs

and had some " harmless " ingredients in vitamins exacerbate

the underlying inflammation - resulting in a huge and dangerous

flare. Based on my own experience I will not use anything

unless there have been some scientific studies as to it's efficacy,

and what the side effects and drug interactions are.

I've found that for skin itching, Aveeno makes a really good

anti-itch cream (calamine). I developed an allergic reaction from

using too much topical benedryl.
