Guest guest
I hope your doctor told you to S L O W L Y get off of Plaquenil. You have to gradually stop that...I learned the hard way with a trip to the hospital, via ambulance. Plus if you stop cold turkey you will get severe headaches plus other unkind symptoms. I finally went to the doctor tonight, the after -hours clinic at my pcp's office . The doctor on call says he thinks I am low in Pottasium and drew some blood , also to check my thyroid again. I have hypothyrodism....and my pcp just increased the dose of levoxyl in April. > > The Plaquenil is causing a rash again...so he said , since my Lupus is in remission, there is no need to take Plaquenil anymore, so stop taking it. I won't get the results of the blood tests till Monday.....so for now I'm just drinking lots of tomato juice and gatorade to try to get my potassium up.I have not felt up to reading all the posts.Just deleting most of them. I had 188 this morning......so forgive me for not respoding to most of them. > > C. > > > > > > > > > > > " The LUPIES Store " Come check out our store... > http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies > > " The LUPIES Web Page " > http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html > > " The LUPIES online photo albums! Guest guest
Hi , No, the doctor didn't tell me to stop the plaquenil slowly......he just said stop taking it. I have also stopped it before when my doctor thought it might be causing the rash. I have been taken off it and on it several times over the years, and never warned about tapering off it slowly........and never suffured the symptoms you described......hmmmmmmm.Goes to show how each of us react differently to different things.
