Guest guest
Has anyone else experienced a pain like this? It starts in the right arm pit and radiates toward the sternum? The skin area is not tender to the touch, the muscle is not tender to palpitation. It just hurts. Every so often I get a sharp jab that causes chills up and down both arms. Anyone else ever feel this, or should I go to the Dr. and be one for the Medical Journal? Pam in PA/
Guest guest
I get a similar pain. I was diagnosed with cortochondritis a couple months ago, and I have flares of it every so often. Sometimes it causes so much pain in my sternum and down my side under my arm that it sends shooting pain across my back, down my arms, and through my ribcage when I walk. The condition is supposedly a swelling or irritation of where the rib cage connects to the sternum. Shandi > Has anyone else experienced a pain like this? Guest guest
I have costochondritis also, started right after I had the flu back in October, it can feel like your having a heart attack, I ended up in the emergency room in December with severe chest pain that went into my back and went down my arm and it was costo. Right now it has chilled out. I was on anti-inflammatory medicine for it. Of course pain meds too. > > Has anyone else experienced a pain like this? Guest guest
Thanks for the input. I am off to the Dr. for follow up blood work, checking out the soaring cholesterol and thyroid harmone levels. On the phone, he hinted at your diagnosis of the issue, but heaven forbid, they actually say anything without the $$$$ and an office visit. Don't get me wrong, I like my Dr. and he is very helpful...but he does insist on an office visit for everything!....a little over cautious sometimes!!!! Even though I wish this pain on no one, it is nice to know that I am not out of the ordinary.... thank you for responding so quickly. I wish for you all a paing free day. Guest guest
Good luck at the doc's Pam, and let us know what you learn! Honestly when I was diagnosed with corto, I thought either I had broken a rib or ruptured a disc or something. The pain can feel pretty serious for something that is essentially harmless. Hope they help you...Shandi > Thanks for the input. I am off to the Dr. for follow up blood work, > checking out the soaring cholesterol and thyroid harmone levels. Be happy about this. A goodly portion of the people on this list would gladly change places with you. Many of us are having a hard time getting in to see their doctor.
