Guest guest
Welcome, Sharon to out list. It is, to my mind, a good list. We all seem to care about each other, love each other and support each other. If you need information on any subject, just ask. Someone is more than likely to know the answer or where to find the information. Guest guest
Dear Sharon, Welcome! I take 100mg of Elavil along with 900mg of Neurontin (and Loratab and/or Flexeril as needed). I, too, am a cancer survivor; I had my hysterectomy at 29, almost 8 years ago. But I feel like my Fibro was brought on due to developing RA & OA. LOVE & LIGHT, > Hi Iam new here > Iam from Southern California area > I am also a Ovarian Cancer of 2 years survivor > I THINK the lack of hormones and chemo side effects has cause Fibro > Oh yes Iam 54 > > Symtoms: Dizzyness and off balance > very tired Never enough sleep > 7 out of 11 trigger points > Achy like all the time and even pain in some points > my feet too! > Weird like hives(?) on my back > Hungry all the time too > forgettfulness > If I do housework one day, I am terribly sore the next day > > Iam suppose to take 10mg of Elavil but Iam not sure its the right > thing to do. Guest guest
Dear Sharon, I hope this might answer your questions and better yet might aid you! 1. Why the Neurontin? I heard thats good for anyone suffering from Neuropathy The reason why I take Neurontin is because due to having cervical disk disease, OA, stenosis, and bone spurs: these conditions have crushed so many nerves, most to the point of " no return " , that by using the med helps control the nerve messaging. Before taking it, pain management was fruitless. I recently underwent another multi- level fusion surgery w/ anterior plating, 2. Dr today says Iam doing good but bloated. Is this another symtom? She wants my on Clonidine patch. To lower my blood pressure and to help NATURALLY without hormone hotflashes Heard of this? I sometimes have swollen ankles, but it usually goes away by elevating them while I rest. I take a natural soy isosome product for a natural, but low dose of estrogen (had a hysterectomy when I was 29; had hot flashes for 2 years, but not some much now). 3. I guess I will start my Elavil tonight I haven't had the " weight gaining " symptom from Elavil, although some other members have. I take both the Neurontin & Elaviln around 6-7pm, so that they get in my system and add sleeping. This program has worked wonders on my sleeping patterns, and I do feel rested upon waking (sometimes though it doesn't work or at least not as well~~but that's Fibro for you!). Sharon 4. Oh I came home tonight and I ACHE everywhere! neck, arms legs, and feet. Are these the symtoms? Yes, achey muscles are part of Fibro...sometimes that pain overwhelms my RA flares! But that's why I have on hand Flexerill and Loratabs. My awesome Neurosurgeon prescribed (so the insurance covered it~~Thank God) a RS-41 Stimulator for muscles. This is not a Tens Unit; the stimulator not only works to relieve muscle tention, it also stimulates the muscles t-cells to produce healthy new cells and repairs muscle tone. It runs on a 15/30 min cycle: 15 mins for relief of muscle tention, then 30 mins for repair cycle. Oh, and the other great thing about this machine is that during use, natural endorphins are released for a natural pain killer! Hope this helps,

Guest guest
Sorry you have joined the Chronic Pain group because of your symptoms but this is a wonderful way to talk to people who are experiencing similar problems. I was on effexor for two years and finally got off all meds. Wasn't sure if it cause the waight gain or the depression from the antidepressants. They just caused me to be groggy. Took the guifenesin for allergies and stayed on it becuase it seemed to help more than anything else. Hope you will visit my new web site with stories and poetry of everyday courage and finding strength within. www.emergingcourageous.com m.pfanstiel@... --- sharonlower sharonlower@...> wrote: > Dear Members > Hi Iam NEW unfortunately LOL > > NAME: Sharon > STATE: California > BORN: Jan 16th 1948 Michigan > http://www.geocities.com/sharonlower > > FIBRO: Well I started having weird symtoms awhile > back and went to > my doctors wife, whos a licensed nurse, and she > discovered it!
