Oh I feel awfully guilty about medication. Especially pain

medication. People are very weird about that. I hate the way you

feel at the Pharmacy, I hate the way people make you feel about

taking medication period. I can relate. The sad thing is most of

the time, my body could use pain medication daily. Of course, that

is unacceptable to most people and Dr.s, but it is really how my

body hurts.

I don't think it should be that way. I am lucky because my pharmacist has known me for years and is even the one who suggested that I ask my DR about the new med called avinza when I told her about problems with my pain patch. I am like you and need pain meds almost 24 hours a day. With med I just take it once in the morning and it does a VERY slow time release of pain med and I NEVER get the woozy narcotic feeling even though it is actually a morphine sulfate. I am NEVER groggy from it like with the pain patch and the pain relief does last for the whole 24 hours. When I tried to take pain pills then I had problems with break through pain and also they would wear off before I could take more. This has just been a Godsend for me and my whole family. I think that these DR's that have a problem with pain meds need to walk a day in our shoes. Heck, I think half a day would change their attitudes. Same thing with pharmacy people. They need to just shut up and fill the script, The DR obviously feels that you need them and I don't think the staff at Walgreens has access to your medical charts to be passing judgment. Just my thoughts.

a - You are sooo right! I will ask my Dr. about Avinza. I need

something. I also do NOT get wooozy with pain med. But , I think

because what I am taking is not working too well.. You don't want to

increase the dosages because of all the down side to that. I think

I will ask about your new med. I am sooooo happy you have found

some relief.
