Guest guest
My Rheumatologist diagnosed me with Fibro and CFS. (After years of pain and illnesses, I went to my PCP for help and after DOZENS of tests and visits, she referred me to the Rhuematologist) I take Celebrex for my carpaltunnel and that's about it. I also have mild osteo-arthritis, so he told me to get that over the counter stuff for muscles and joints. (my memory is REALLY bad these days!) Other than that, he has given me NOTHING for the pain other than a prescription for exercise (obviously not a real prescription, just told me to start exercising and building it up to 1 hour per day.) I of course am thinking ... ya, right! I don't want to walk across the house, much less go ride a bike, swim or walk for an hour. But, I know it does help in the long run, so I'm trying, some. Anyway, my big question for tonight is, should I be taking something for the Fibro or CFS? If so, what and for which one? I have a young daughter who is ill and requires attention throughout the night, so I can't take sleeping pills or something that will knock me out. (of course, the Dr. didn't offer meds anyway. What do you all think. Isn't there something I can do to mask, hide or lessen the pain? Thanks. I am so excited about joining the group! Pam H. Guest guest
Welcome to the club! It's totally outrageous that they gave you nothing for pain. My doctor gave me Mobic, also known as meloxicam (sp). I take it twice a day and it does not make me sleepy. It dulls my pain, save for a painful ovarian cyst I am having removed June. I believe it's a long-lasting anti-inflammatory. I was taking regular ibuprofen, but it didn't touch the fibro pain much. Shandi > My Rheumatologist diagnosed me with Fibro and CFS.
