Hi C,

Thanks for writing, I will get the results of my blood tests tomorrow, or at least that's when the tech said they will be ready.....I probably will have to call for the results. I also have an appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow, and will ask her about increasing or changing my antidepressant.

When I really need a puppy-fix......I will go up to the local pet store and ask to pet a puppy......they will let me sit in a little booth, and bring a puppy in there for me to play with.

I have tried to have cats .....but just didn't work out, besides ......the changing the cat litter was harder on me than walking a dog would be.....that kitty litter is heavy! and having to carry it to the dumpster a couple times a week .....No , thank you. !

Besides, cats just don't do it for me like dogs do....never was a cat person.

I don't get Animal Planet on my tv........but I watch Miracle pets, and all the wild life shows I can get.

I'm sorry your friendly feral cat was killed . Maybe another will come along that you can bond to.

I live in an apartment complex and don't see many animals around .....they want a $300 pet deposit so that discourages a lot of pet owners.

C,

Dear . . . . it's good you're feeling a tad better today. Hopeyour blood work results will give some favorably answers. I too miss having dogs. The expense is too great at this point, andalso I want to be able to leave without having to worry about boardingetc. I used to babysit Jane's dogs (transplant daughter) when she livedin the area and got my dog "fix" that way, but now she lives in Seattle. My daughter who lives twenty miles from me has seven dogs and two cats! She and her husband trade off going places so one or the other can bearound to do the dog chores. There are too many for me to handle onlybecause one is very old and very large and has to have a sling aroundhis body before he can go outside. He's a wonderful dog and we'll allmiss him terribly when he goes. She has a special pallet for him in thebedroom with his water and food bowl inches from his nose and two fansblowing on him constantly. He's part pyrenees (sp?) and has a thickcoat that is too much for Houston heat even with air conditioning. The way I get my animal fix is by watching Animal Planet. Also getgood laughs. Hope you receive that channel. It is good, good therapyfor those of us who are "pet deprived". Hang in there and get to feeling better. Lots of love, C.PS There is a feral cat who hangs around my back porch. She looks forshelter from the rain. I give her "dessert" every now and then (theneighbor routinely feeds her and a passle of others) by throwing her apiece of chicken or whatever I have handy. I would do more for her butshe's skittish and now yammers at me when I don't do her bidding, andwe haven't bonded. The cat I did bond with last year was killed by aneighbor dog. Some animals I feel close to and others I don't.
