I don't know if anyone remembers a few weeks ago I was having

problems with my primary care doctor, and getting copies of my

records. How they had supposedly lost my records, and the office

staff was so unhelpful and rude. Well, after all that, I sent my

doctor a letter telling him how his staff had been treating me, and

how I thought it horrible that he had lost his personal touch, and

turned his office into a " quantity " practice.

Well, he just called me at work today. He wanted to thank me for the

letter, as it was the third one of it's kind that he had received,

and it made him realize how he had become what he least wanted to

become. He is no longer going to take on teaching students, as he

feels this interferes with his attitude towards patients, and he

found my records. He apologized, told me he made copies of my records

for me, and told me he wouldn't blame me if I wanted to sue him.

Then he told me how he got a viral infection that laid him up for all

of March, due to the muscle and joint aches! And he now understands

quite a bit more about what some of his patients come to him with!

This is the doctor I remember! I told him I would like to continue

coming to him, as long as I won't have any more problems with his

office staff, and he assured me I wouldn't. That he had done some

major reworkings.

So I have my PCP back, which is great, as I really didn't want to

have to explain my complicated history to a new doc. He's getting out

all relevant records for my appt. with the pain doc on Mon. and he's

going to keep my record on his desk as a reminder to himself to

remember what he wants and doesn't want to be. And I feel I made a

difference. At the time I wrote the letter, I thought it would do

nothing but make me feel a little better, but it really did make a

difference. I'm so happy right now. I'm always happy when I can give

someone a second chance.

Feeling much better mentally,
