Guest guest
-----Original Message----- From: samiam997 Okay experts, My doc laughingly said I'm a major overachiever and that fibro is a disease of overachievers. Can anyone give me any information on this? He also said that if I joined a support group, that I would end up mothering and " doing " for all the members. Any thoughts? MN Hi , I think I've heard some things to that effect before about folks with Fibro. I can only speak for myself, but I don't even come close to fitting into that category. But I'm probably the oddball...I usually am lol. {{{Hugs}}} Jacqui Jacqui McCallister Age: 39 Dx'd with FMS: 1995, but symptoms since 1984 Additional Illnesses: Papillary Thyroid Cancer spread to lungs, Intra-Occular Migraines, TMJ, Allergies, Periodontitis, Mitral Valve Prolapse, IBS, Osteoarthritis, MPS and CFS, Congenital Hip Dysplasia, Osteopenia, Bunions, Heel Spur, Light/Smell/Sound Sensitivities, Motion Sickness, Sleep Problems, Depression, Anxiety Location: Ridgeview, West Virginia USA Divorced, no kids. Take care, Irene You know I hadn't thought about being a type A personality but thinking about it today while making programs for my daughter's recital, I guess I really am. This morning I went to a wedding and ended up interpreting at the reception as the interpreters for the wedding had to leave. Then I came home and had this program to make, print and fold. This evening I have to go to the recital. I will end up helping my younger daughter with setting up for the reception that follows. I know I will pay for it tomorrow but I still do it. While it might be true, to me it smacks of a veiled hint at being in a higher stress category, and therefore more prone to a psychosomatic illness. I very sweetly told my chiropractor that if he was trying to imply my pain was all in my head due to stress, I would kick him(lying on the table at the time). The conversation quickly changed directions. And no, I don't threaten my doctors or chiropractor on a regular basis or anything. I could get away with it only becuase a. he knew I was joking, and b. as the father of my best friend from high school, I've known him a long long time. Anyway, my two cents worth. Have a pain free day everyone,
