Hello, friends, and especially Missy, Jen, and Shandi,

First, and Shandi, I never intended to upset you, and apologize. If you

wish to get info on the genetics aspect, including sporatic case info

(environmental toxins which damage mitochondrion, for instance), please go to

www.umdf.org , look under Mito Disease, then Genetics, where they have an

excellent explanation for this.

Now, for Missy and Jen, our daughter is also on the Autism Spectrum (Pervasive

Developmental Disorder), and is being treated with therapy. She is the one who

pointed us in the direction of Mito, with high levels of lactic acid in her

blood and a lactic acid/pyruvate ratio that sky rocketed. Mysteriously, this

seems to be getting better. She is hypotonic (low muscle tone), with dark

circles under her eyes, fatigue... My mother has been dx with Fibromyalgia, and

my sister and myself (initially) with CFS. Do your children have seizures, by

any chance? Perhaps there is a connection, perhaps not. There is a doc in the

DC/Baltimore area, Dr. Kelley, who deals a lot with Mito/Autism.

Hope this helps. Again, sorry for upsetting anyone. My best to you all.
