Guest guest
Hi everyone, Well, I saw one of my doctors this morning for a progress report on my condition, and while I am a lot thinner due to losing more than 27 lbs. of fluid while I was in the hospital, talk about being wrung out, making it a total of 47 lbs. in the last ten weeks, I am not out of the woods, yet. I am much better, able to breathe better, able to walk from one end of the house to the other and still be able to do something when I get there. LOL Haven't been able to do that in almost a year, always had to stop and sit down halfway there. My anemia is slowly improving, and once we get that big old ulcer healed up in my stomach, that will be even better. The fluid retention problem is related to the congestive heart failure, and the three doctors are of three minds on what is the root cause. The Primary Doc says it's my non-insulin dependent diabetes that is at fault...the Cardiologist says it is the heart itself which is at fault, and the Rheumatologist says it is the Lupus. I tend to think since Lupus is what gave me all the other "gifts" in my life, healthwise, and slowed me down so that I can't go hiking and distance walking any more, that it IS Lupus which is the ROOT cause of all this junk. However, in the end, it makes no difference, really which is at fault. It just means an adjustment in treatments, a few more pills, and a more vigilant attitude on my part and the part of all the doctors to keep me "dry", moving, and breathing. So, the official diagnosis from this latest crisis, is Congestive Heart Failure...which can be managed for the present time and which I intend to ignore as much as possible. The other tests done in the hospital had to do with kidney function, and I also have mild nephritis, with about 10% loss of function. Nothing to write home about, there. So, you all have as much, or TMI as Randy says, information as I have, myself, and I hope you aren't too bored with it all. I certainly am. LOL So, thank you all for your wonderful support, love, and caring kindesses to me and my family. You ROCK! Loving hugs to all, Mike, MM, Minniemyno, , , etc.
Guest guest
Dear Mike: I am praying for you! Thank you for your prayers for me! My mother had congestive heart failure and went through something similar to you, but she did start feeling a lot better and now just takes her heart medication and others and is doing very well. I hope you don't feel discouraged, but rather know that things will get better soon! You are an amazing woman and I know you will come through this! Much Love,

Guest guest
, Thanks, hon. They tell me that it may be manageable with increased doses of the heart drugs, and with keeping the fluid off. It's a struggle, but I am stubborn. Loving hugs, MM
