Guest guest
Hello all... My pain comes and goes and it manifests itself in many different ways but most of the time it is in the form of sharp, stabbing pains that start at one point and radiate outwards to the next available joint. Are there any recognizable pain patterns in fm or is it pretty much anything goes? The reason I ask is that I've had several different pain sensations lately and I don't know if this is strictly fm pain or if it is some other problem going on. There are 4 specific 'incidents' that have me wondering what is going on with my body... #1) I have a lot of pain in my left big toe joint and the surrounding area but whenever I have this particular pain I also get this weird warm tingling sensation on the right side of my brain up around my ear. It is really creepy and is freaking me out...hoping I don't have a brain tumor but figuring it isn't since it only tingles when my toe hurts. #2) When I have a pain in the middle of the muscle in my upper right arm I have simultaneous pain right in the middle of the muscle in my lower right arm. Is it common to have pain in two specific points at the same time? I don't have one without the other. #3) I have discovered I can no longer wear ponytails without pain in my head (in the back on each side just above my neck...it is this really hot searing sensation in my brain...actually very similar to the feeling I get if I lay on my stomach with my head propped up on my arms (which I don't do anymore . #4) Last but not least (and by far the most excruciatingly painful)...yesterday morning as I got up from the dining room table my hip popped (loudly...which isn't all that unusual...the whole family gets a kick out of my snap, crackling, and popping) and all of a sudden I had such an intense pain that I have never experienced before and it went the whole distance from my hip to my knee. I swear I thought I must have broken something but it was the muscle and not the bone that was hurting. I couldn't even stand up straight and I certainly couldn't walk...I actually ended up rolling around on the floor...but the strangest thing is it only lasted for 4 minutes tops. I had a sore hip for the rest of the day and you can bet I sure didn't do anything too strenuous but there was no recurrent pain in the muscle. Has anybody had any of these problems??? I just don't get this disorder...that's what makes it so hard to explain to people too...it's never the same and there are always new manifestations. Do these problems sound like good old fibromyalgia to you or should I be worried about other problems??? Any input would be greatly appreciated...thanks for 'listening'...
