Guest guest
Hi Barby,Could you explain the BCIR pouch? What is it, & how does it work? My j-pouch has constant pouchitis problems.Marie To: From: nordgren1@...Date: Thu, 6 Nov 2008 13:37:28 -0800Subject: High-Dose Ursodeoxycholic Acid Fails in PSC I'm on the same dose post tx as I was pre tx - 1500 mg/day which was on the higher end pre tx but now I weigh a bit more. Still I think I will send this study to my hep and see what he says especially since psc hasn't been confirmed. Guest guest
BCIR stands for Barnett continent intestinal reservoir. See http://www.bcirostomy.com/history_t.html for the history of BCIR, and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7774466 for a survey on it's efficacy. One of my co-worker's spouse had a BCIR, and ultimately had to go back to an ileostomy due to recurring adhesions. If I remember correctly, Barby has had very good experience with it.
