Guest guest
Cindy,I went off it briefly and ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks. I feel some of the reason for the hospital stay was that things just went south with me as soon as I went off the URSO. It could have been a coincidence of course, but I had increased nausea & vomiting, as well as really out of control pouchitis and dehydration.MarieUC/J-Pouch/PSC/AIH/Adrenal gland insufficiency/chronic pouchitis To: From: baudouxnorthrup@...Date: Thu, 6 Nov 2008 08:12:25 -0800Subject: Re: Re: STUDY ** High-Dose Ursodeoxycholic Acid Fails in PSC** I weigh 110 and take 1000 per day. You can bet my hep is going to get a call asking if it is really necessary. Not just the study information, but that drug is horrifically EXPENSIVE, and I have been on it 11 years and nothing has improved, and I never did see a difference after starting it. Guest guest
Marie, I also had my Urso cut drastically after I went to Mayo, I ended up sick and also very itchy. After I called Dr Harnois at Mayo she increased it again, just not quite as high a dose as before. I have started feeling somewhat better, she said she has had this happen to others. Glad you are doing better. I also have a BCIR like Barby. She will probably tell you all about it . Take care, Bettyann
