Guest guest
Theresa in Vancouver. A couple of things you might try. Oil of Oregano might help. Read what they suggest for a dosage. Use it until you are feeling better and then stop. But the minute you start to feel like a cold is coming on . . . then start taking it. Oil of oregano is great to use to clean your teeth. LOL no more then a drop unless you really like hot food, as it is hot. I will wet my toothbrush and either put a drop on the brush or directly on my front teeth. Not only are you getting the benefits of very clean teeth, but you would get the active ingredients of the oregano into your system through the membrane in your mouth. Also you might try a castor oil heat treatment. Keep using these until your symptoms are gone. Rub good castor oil on your chest or area of concern and then put a towel over your chest. Put your heating pad on low and place that over the towel. Be safe and do not fall asleep with the heating pad on. Keep doing this until you symptoms are gone. Have you tried the Zinc and Vitamin C lozenges? Sheila *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** In my brain fog, I of course missed the biggest problem I've been having lately, and that's chronic rhinitis (since August) which drips into my lungs, causing a chronic cough, mouth breathing, etc. Just a generally over-active immune system. Inhalant allergies to kingdom come. Don't get sick often (knock on wood). Feeling bloated, can't wear my wedding rings any more, socks leave rings on my ankles. Fingernails are ok though (dd is envious I can grow them so long without breaking, no white spots). Sheila Bliesath StarGate Travel Phone: For more information on travel or becoming an agent info@... Guest guest
Hi Sheila: The main problem is my plugged sinuses, which drip phlegm into my lungs and cause a chronic cough. It isn't a cold, as it's been non-stop since August. I've had nasal swabs, sputum cultures, blood work, all normal, no infections. I also had this problem during my last pregnancy, resolved after delivery. Interestingly, this symptom has both times coincided with sudden lactose intolerance, hair loss and water retention. How weird is that? I've tried Q-var for the cough, oral Claritin for the congestion, an oral decongestant, a neti pot as a nasal irrigation, Nasal rinse ocean water spray, Flonase. I've sometimes completely lost my sense of smell for days. I've poured so much $$$ into this problem, I'm hesitant to just try something unless I know it will really work. My strong suspicion is it's related to food intolerances, but that's long and difficult to figure out. So I'm finally seeing an allergist/pulmonologist on Friday and we'll see what he can do. He's well-respected, which is why it's taken me 3 months to get in to see him. I guess Oil of Oregano won't hurt, but I'll have to find a food grade one, as the place I go to for essential oils sells them mostly for aromatherapy so I'm not sure if I should brush my teeth with it. I've switched to a natural toothpaste to get as many allergens out of my system as possible, and eventually, I'll probably go on something called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, but it's a tough one. Still not sure if hypo is my problem, as I don't have many of the classic symptoms other than depression and tiredness (how many women with young children _don't_ have that LOL) and a TSH of 2.5. I think something else is going on here. Oh, and I do take vitamin C with bioflavenoids, but haven't taken Zinc in a while, as I said, I have an _over_ active immune system, it just reacts to the wrong things (allergies). My new GP app't is Feb 28 for complete blood work (T3, T4, anti-thyroid antibodies). Thanks for listening. Take care. Guest guest
Good luck! There is a way to test for allergens on your own. Use muscle testing. LOL Even Dr. Phil was talking about muscle testing on his show. The show where he had the doctor who wrote the book about ADD and ADHD and food allergies. *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** Hi Sheila: The main problem is my plugged sinuses, which drip phlegm into my lungs and cause a chronic cough.
