Guest guest
Wait, wait....Naturethroid??? Now, where do you get that? Cindi, is that what you use? ...Armour, too, or not? I'm feeling so troubled by all of this. I know I probably first have to find a dr. near me who will work with me. Maybe I'm in denial, but I'm still wondering if the problems I'm having with hairloss and anxiety are because of the meno and decline in estrogen, progesterone, testosterone...and the possibility that I was using too much or too little of one of my (meno) hormones. Losing the hair is devastating me.......I can't tell you how affected I am by this...which I imagine is increasing my anxiety. If anyone here can guide me or encourage me in some way, I'd be so thankful. I'm learning so much and taking notes (can't depend on my memory anymore). Guest guest
Most of us use Armour IF we can get it. Naturethroid is another natural thyroid preparation very much the same as Armour, and a name brand just has different fillers. Then there are Thyroid-S also a natural thyroid but a generic, which seems to be very close to Armour & Naturethroid in affects. Also there is Thyroid in Canada, and Time Caps Labs Generic which seems to be no longer available, and was weaker than Armour. there are also OTC desiccated thyroid tablets from Nutri Meds but these have an unstated content for thyroid hormones and are supposed to be much weaker. Hope this clears some of the confusion. Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia
Guest guest
Kathy, My daughters also have the hypothyroid like me. My oldest had terrible hair loss at age 19-20. The straight t3 stopped it for her. In the meanwhile as she waited for the meds to work, she also used Nioxin hair products which she said helped ward off the loss. Guest guest
Thanks, Alyce. I'm worried that since I've been having this excess hairloss problem for about 3-4 yrs. now, that I've gone too long without the right treatment and the hair MAY NOT grow back...I'm so- ooo worried. But, I will look into the Nioxin products as well...I used to use the shampoo...not sure if it did that much for me. Kathy p.s. straight T3??? is that like Levoxyl? sorry, I'm still learning. > > > > > > okay, all of you wise ones(and I do mean that,sincerely_.....I > > got my stash of Naturethroid, the other day ,,,,and have been using > 1 > > grain along with the 2 grains of ARMOUR my doc rx'd---have taken it > > for three days...I know I have read before that some of you find it > > not to be as potent...I think for me that may be the case as > > well....when I was taking the other grain, using Armour, I was > > noticing that my afternoon fatigue, was decreasing, well, now it > seems > > to be back....so should I try uping the Naturethroid a little more > to > > even out the difference ,or just wait a while?--Also, I was > wondering > > if I sould freeze the extra bottles, and if so, do you need to put > > them in something to keep them from dampness?---thanx,jeanne > > > > >

Guest guest
Ahhhh..Kathy....I do know about the hair loss and the devastation....sometimes I felt so guilty about it,like I was vain or something...(especially because of all the people who have taken chemo)---but then I realized, that it does not matter, this is about me...and I count too....I must say that the hair loss and the weight gain...were the two things that saddened me the most(however that sounds)it is true....and many of the other symptoms, were way more debilitating than they are, but still.....it is a reckoning....so sorry about your sadness....jeanne ---OH ,and I got the Naturethroid because I my doc will not prescribe nearly enuff Armour... > > Losing the hair is devastating me.......I can't tell you how affected > I am by this...which I imagine is increasing my anxiety. > If anyone here can guide me or encourage me in some way, I'd be so > thankful.
