I was still seeing improvements in many areas even at the 12th month period. A rule of thumb I have seen on this is to give yourself one month for every year that you've been hypo...and that would mean being on enough Armour too. i obviously had a thyroid hormone deficiency off and on because of Hashi's for a good 25 years (since the birth of my daughter) and I know that in some areas my body is still undergoing positive change. One must also realize that hypo can cause permanent damage in some areas if it is not treated. Cindi

Guest guest
Hi: Wow! It's interesting that it took you six months to get better. Sometimes in my impatient state, I expect a diagnosis and treatment to result in immediate improvements. When I read about Celiac (because my sister was dx'd with it) I also went " Ahah! that's me. " And some people on the Celiac list wrote that their symptoms were " exactly " like mine. Got blood and biopsy tests, all negative (although my TTg was 5, normal is <20, meaning I do make some antibodies to gluten so...). Tried the gluten free diet, got worse, gave up after 10 days when the biopsy results came in. I guess it wouldn't " hurt " to try the natural hormones for a while and see if that helps. Seeing the GP now in a week. I'm back to coughing 'til I puke again in the mornings, yuck!!! And I'm seriously beginning to wonder if I have early-onset Alzheimers (I'm only 43) as I can't remember anything, not LOL. I have a very part-time job that I can't do properly any more, sigh! BTW, I tried vega testing (muscle testing) a few years ago, and got nowhere, a few inhalant allergies (I already knew that) but not much more than that, more $$$ down the drain. Thanks Cindi and Sheila. Guest guest
Theresa, I also have that cough, mine is better now but not entirely gone, and I have been on thyroid meds (Armour ) for a long time. I do believe the longer these things go on in our bodies the more damage is done and the more time it will take to heal. This is not like a temporary fix in that it covers the symptom, but fixes the CAUSE, which does take longer, but then it is GONE. Just your depression and fatigue should lift almost immediately if thyroid is your problem, but you need to work up to a dose that is suitable for what YOU need, that is the only time consuming part of it. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat?
