I have a friend who keeps a jounal and she advised to start one. She

said she always thought she had bad days all the time, but after she got to

keeping track of her pain and when it occured it really wasn't all bad ones like

it felt. She said she has discoverd over time certain things she eats and drink

can trigger the pain worse and parts of the day or night was good or bad. She

said the weather plays apart and she tracks her meds too and how they effect

her, like if they help or if they make her out of it or worse. I'm really

thinking I am going to start one of them. Thought I would pass on the idea!!

She even takes her journal to the doctor too and it helps them better understand

her condition!! Shirley

Journals are wonderful.

They allow you to look back as see that you have had some days that

are truely better than others.

They are great for documentation.

They will help you see patterns, triggers and so much more.

For someone who can't remember diddly, they have served as great

reminders when asked particular questions and evaluating symptoms.

The only problem is you have to REMEMBER to write in them. I do real

well with mine for a while, then forget about it for a awhile. Alot

of times I have intentions to write in it but don't get much further

than that. Then there are the days when I can't even hold a pencil or

pen so I can write.

I have considered getting a tape recorder to record this, but there

again is the issue of intention with out follow up.

Gentle Hugs,

Cinda

I've been keeping a journal for 20 years. (with strict instructions to

my kids, when I die to BURN EVERYTHING!)

Even before my fibro, I kept a journal and its interesting to go back

and read how your life was once, and how life changes - good and bad.

Koala-t hugs,

Cathy
