Guest guest Posted February 26, 2005 Report Share Posted February 26, 2005 Another interpretation to the bioidentical issue is that our " experts " are merely saying synthetic thyroid hormones are bioidentical to each other. I don't believe you can interpret this as saying the synthetics are bioidentical to Armour or other dessicated thyroid substances, which also contain T-2, T-2, and T-1. Acording to what Tish has written about the FDA's standard of bioidentical, you probably could say that the T-4 in the synthetic hormones like Synthroid is bioidentical to the T-4 component of Armour and other dessicated thyroid substances, but that doesn't mean they are bioidentical in totality.
