Guest guest Posted July 16, 2004 Report Share Posted July 16, 2004 Hi all. Got in around Noon today, since I woke up at 4 a.m. and decided to get on the road early. We did fine, mostly. I had a fall Tuesday night on the trail from the bathroom to our campsite, but mostly just injured my dignity. LOL I am sore in a few places that normally don't hurt all that much, as I landed on my knees and butt...don't ask me how I managed to hit both places on the same fall, but I did. I guess I bounced. Anyway, Reesey was with me, and he completely lost it, thought I'd had a heart attack or something and got down on the ground yelling in my ear. I couldn't get up off the dirt by myself, so he went (in the dark which scares the heck out of him most times) and got my camp chair and I used that to pull myself up off the ground. I was dirty and shaky, but in one piece. He is still talking about how scared he was, but I am so grateful it was just a little nothing. I am tired out, got too much sun on my left arm driving home, but other than a few balky moments when the boys wanted to play and I needed them to fetch and carry, we did fine. Toasted a few sunsets in all of your names, cooked over the fire, and even made good clam chowder last night for our traditional last night meal in camp. So, it was wonderful to be able to go again. I think we will go to San Simeon next month as invited. To anyone who celebrated a birthday, anniversary, etc. hope it was a good one.
