Guest guest
Well, there's been a little glitch in Tom's recovery. As in about 80% of all transplants, Tom has developed an infection. He was suspicious when they started testing his drainage yesterday. The peritonitis has become an infection, so they are starting him on IV antibiotics. Unfortunately this also means he has to go back to his clear liquid diet. One day of solid food...such a tease! Tom had anticipated something like this could happen, and although he's a little disappointed he's handling the news well. Hopefully the leaking connections will hurry up and seal themselves. I haven't been to town yet today, but I'll be there soon. They moved Tom to a regular room in the BLES building...room 6012. He's right down the hall from Larry, so Tom was able to visit him last night. Larry is still having a tough time with nausea, so keep praying for him. I'll send an update later if I have any further news.
